In the world of IP, ideas, tone, and style aren't protected. You're free to build a helpful, upbeat, slightly snarky bot if that's your brand voice, even if another company does the same. But if your chatbot replicates:

  • Distinctive sequences of interaction,

  • Scripted dialogue that appears copied,

Not all risk is legal. If a customer or client can't tell your chatbot apart from a competitor's, it may signal:
